Here are the costs that all home sellers should know about in advance.
I was meeting with a home seller recently who was interviewing multiple agents. As we were going over the cost of the sale, he looked confused. He said that no other agent had told them about the costs involved in selling a home. He didn’t realize he should be expecting to pay for certain things out of pocket when selling his home.
The buyer is going to expect you to pay for a home warranty.
If you’re thinking about selling, you should know about these costs as well. The largest fee is going to be the commission you pay to your Realtor. The second-largest fee will be your title policy. In the residential world of real estate, this is a seller cost that will also require you to pay stock prep, attorney, and courier fees.
Additionally, the buyer is going to expect you to pay for a home warranty. If you’re part of a homeowners association, you’ll have to pay those dues.
These aren’t huge costs, but they are things we like to bring up with potential sellers to ensure that they know exactly what they will walk away with once their home is sold.
If you have any questions about selling your home or real estate in general, don’t hesitate to reach out via phone or email. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
