Today I want to go over some of the questions you should ask when interviewing an agent to help you through the buying process.
Looking to buy a home? Search all homes here
Looking to sell your home? Get your home value here
What questions should you ask an agent while interviewing them for the task of helping you with your home search? Allow me to share a few of the most important things to ask.
First, ask how many transactions the agent has done in the last 12 months. You will want somebody who is experienced and sold more than five to 10 homes in the last year.
You should also ask this agent what their support structure is like. Do they have an assistant in place to help you prepare offers quickly?
Also, do they have a showing specialist in place? If you happen to find your perfect home while your agent is unavailable, do they have someone that can get you into that house? You want to make sure that you’re not just relying on one person, but two or three, instead.
If they are on vacation for two weeks and you find the perfect home while they are away, do they have someone that can get you into that house?
Next, it’s important toask about their preferred lender. While you may already have a relationship with a bank or previous mortgage broker, the professionals your agent may know could help you save money.
Finally, you need to ask what software they have in place to ensure that you are getting accurate, timely updates. The software we offer our clients syncs to the MLS every hour, on the hour.
If you have any questions or are interested in buying or selling, please feel free to contact me. I look forward to speaking with you soon.
